Wine Profile:
In 1981, Lyeth Estate was founded in Sonoma County by Chip Lyeth. After traveling extensively in his quest for exceptional wines of the world, Chip fell in love with Cabernet Sauvignon, and quickly learned that blending in other varietals added layers of complexity to the overall wine. Over 30 years later, we are still dedicated to Chip’s vision of making outstanding Cabernet Sauvignon.
Returning to our roots, the California Red Wine exemplifies the heritage of Lyeth as a pioneer in the world of Meritage blends. Driven by the Petite Syrah and supported by Merlot, this blend utilizes two classic Bordeaux varietals of the five varietals (Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, Petit Verdot and Merlot) that were the inspiration for the Meritage wines of California.
Tasting Notes:
In the glass, this Lyeth California Red Wine has a ruby-plum hue and offers aromas of black cherry, toasted hazelnuts and preserves with hints of cocoa and molasses. Its luscious palate reveals a velvety texture with soft, spreading flavors of cinnamon and chocolate torte. The well-balanced tannins and subtle complexity make this wine immediately enjoyable and perfectly paired with a variety of hearty dishes.
